Single A rules
- All fixtures are double headers and will be seven inning games, two hour timed games (which ever happens first). The umpire will declare that the next inning is the final inning of the game with around twenty minutes to go.
- All innings apart from the 'final inning' will have a five-run limit to reduce long innings.
- The 'final inning' will have no run limit.
- Games can therefore end up lasting more than two hours, but time is a guideline
- If a pitcher pitches a complete game in the first game they may NOT pitch in the second game. If not, a pitcher may throw a total of five innings between two games.
- In the event of a complete game lasting more than five innings a pitcher can continue to throw until the end. They may not throw in the second game.
- There is no mercy rule in Single A
The primary purpose for Single A is to promote the development of players. Pursuant to the developmental focus, the managers of the other clubs in the Single A have pledged to do their best to ensure all fixtures take place, so if a team does not have sufficient players, the other team will lend them players for the game.
